Ruth Veza
I have been doing
patchwork for nearly 20 years. I enjoy all facets of patchwork
but my favorite is naive appliqué. I make miniature quilts,
cushions, wall hangings, table runner sets, patchwork
potholders, lavender sachets, potpourri hearts and larger
quilts. I also incorporate machine embroidery into my patchwork
on items such as table runner sets, potholders, aprons, peg bags
and other small items. I also enjoy hand quilting in preference
to machine quilting, but do both.
I do most of my patchwork as gifts for
friends and family and it gives me great pleasure seeing the
look on their faces to have something hand made. I sell my
patchwork privately and locally at the Bindoon Arts
& Craft Centre. I will
also be exhibiting some of my work at the Bindoon Agriculture
Show
this year for the
first time.
I also make needle
punch cards which are decorated with threads and beads. These
are also for sale at Bindoon Arts & Crafts and made for family
and friends.
I also enjoy doing
cross-stitch and candle-wicking.
