I
have lived in Bindoon for some 28+ years with my husband and
three daughters. I have always had a huge interest in
arts and crafts but never really a great amount of time.
Since retiring from the work force in 2007, this has
changed.
I have many T.A.F.E.
courses over the years - my first being at 14 years of age -
that I have lost count, but not forgotten what I learned.
Two of my preferred
interests at present, are woodwork and patchwork. It is
such a great feeling to take a piece of wood and shape it to
what I want, whether it be a kitchen utensil or a piece of
furniture, or when I cut up material then sew it together
again. Just to see work being created by my own hands is a
great feeling.
My husband is
talented also and he is very often the envy of his friends
because of the array of tools he has in his workshop.
Because I also work over there with him, we have both
created some awesome pieces over the years. I don't usually
use a pattern but just look at something and make it to my
interpretation.
I am interested
always in learning new crafts and hope I am never too old to
learn a new form of art.
